APPLYING TO THE SEMINARY
Step 1: VOCATION DIRECTOR:
When you are ready to apply to the seminary, contact the Vocation Director in your area to receive an application.
Step 2: APPLICATION FORM:
Fill out the application form and include a recent photograph of yourself.
Step 3: PERSONAL HISTORY OUTLINE:
Please follow the guidelines provided with the application package in writing about your life history.
Step 4: MEDICAL REPORT:
Arrange for a medical examination and have the physician fill out the form provided in the application package. Your physician will send the form to the seminary.
Step 5: PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT:
A psychological assessment is required prior to admission to the seminary. The Vocation Director will provide you with the name and contact information of a qualified psychologist.
Step 6: BAPTISM AND CONFIRMATION CERTIFICATE(S):
A recent copy of your Baptismal Certificate and Confirmation Certificate(s) can be obtained from the parish where you were baptized. These certificates must be issued within the last six months.
Step 7: POLICE CHECK:
Each applicant is required to arrange for a Criminal Records Check with the appropriate law enforcement office in his area and forward the original results to the Rector of the Seminary.
Step 8: REFERENCE:
Please provide the Rector of the Seminary with the name, complete address, phone number, and e-mail address of at least one reference so that the Rector may request a Letter of Reference on your behalf. Letters of reference may be requested from your parish priest and/or past employers.
Step 9: TRANSCRIPT OF MARKS:
Provide an official copy of your high school, college, and/or university transcript. The transcript(s) should be sent directly from the educational institution(s) to the Seminary.
Step 10: FORMAL ADMISSION INTERVIEW:
When all documents have been received, a Seminary Faculty Member will call you to schedule an interview.
